STUDENT CLUB
Activities
Student Clubs
are formed with an aim to strengthen students’ talents by creating an
atmosphere to nurture their interests. They provide students all types of
support to enrich their knowledge/ emotional capabilities to succeed in the
space where they are fascinated.
For every club,
a team is formed with one faculty member and two student representatives for
smooth functioning of the club. There should be one mentor selected for each
club. Students should be guided by the mentors in order to run the clubs successfully.
The purpose and benefits of each and every club is communicated to the
students.
The Student
Club is a platform for self-directed and peer-supervised activity by the
students to develop their ability to cooperate in an atmosphere free of competitiveness.
All Student
Club are mentored by a faculty member. A Clubs once formed will continue for at
least one semester. A student can continue in the same Club or join another
Club in the next semester. The strength of a Club should be not less than 10 students
and not more than 35 students. If more than 40 students are interested in the
same activity, additional branches of the club should be formed, each meeting
and working independently.

Academic
Clubs:
Spoken English
Club: In this
Club, students learn the fundamentals of speaking English fluently.
Geography Club: Study ancient maps,
trade routes; discuss role of geography in the culture of a region
History Club: Analyze and write about or enact a historical
event (battle/War) or figure
Current Affairs Club: Objectives of this club is to make reading News Paper a habitual among students
To document and disseminate the burning news among
the peer group
To promote the habit of reading newspaper and their
by to raise their level of social awareness.
Higher
Education Preparatory Club: Students interested in pursuing the same subject for higher
education can form a club to discuss and debate their interested subject topics
with each other. The faculty mentor should guide the students in understanding
the knowledge required to crack entrance exams, level of preparation required,
methods of preparation, how to overcome their deficiencies.
Financial
Literacy Club: Students
must learn about Banks, different investment options and their suitability to
realize different financial goals. They should be able to take decisions in
their life about finances.
MS-Office
Literacy Club: The
students must learn the essentials of MS-Office like using Word, Power point
and Excel, shortcut commands used etc. The students must be given practical
assignments and should be mentored by the faculty to ensure they learn the
basics of MS-Office.
Telugu Club: Learn about poets, writers of Telugu
literature and their writing and impact of their writings on the society or
remarkable literature they given to mankind.
Writer’s Club: This Club encourages the students to write in
any form or language that they are interested in. Students with good writing
skills and interest in creative writing can join this club and attempt to write
poems, short stories, essays etc. Best of these writings can be published in
the monthly magazine of the college or in the notice board.
Future learners
club: This club
is for the students who transited from Telugu to English medium of instruction
in UG level and those who need extra time for preparing for exams. This club
can be mentored by all the faculty rotation wise and the faculty should help
the students overcome the fear of language and help them understand the
concepts better.
Journal club: Under this club, students can choose a topic
of interest and the mentor faculty can help them collect research articles on
that topic. Students can discuss the methodology and discuss the results of the
research papers.
Environment
club: Students
can discuss contemporary issues like climate change and sustainability of
natural resources etc. They can also study strategies adopted across global in
regard to conservation of water, safe drinking water, waste management,
pollution reduction etc. and come up with their own strategies to safeguard the
environment in their college.
Home Science
Club: Understand
the scientific importance of everyday ingredients used in the kitchen and come
up with interesting/ healthier recipe versions of traditional dishes.
Dance Club: Choreograph, rehearse and present solo/ group
dances- Classical, Folk, Zumba, Salsa dance etc.
Drama &
Puppetry Club: Rehearse
and present skits/ drama. Should be able to display all emotions.
Music Club: Rehearse and present concerts of various
forms of vocal and instrumental music- Classical, Folk, Film music etc.
Arts &
Crafts Club: Create
art work, Creative activities like sewing, crochet, embroidery, knitting,
beadwork etc., discuss history of Art and contributions of famous artists
Entrepreneur
Club: Discussing
new ideas for business start-up and developing ideas into business plans.
Educating about ED schemes and present market scenario, identifying scope for
business and SWOT analysis of the idea to know the viability of business idea.
Journalism/College
Magazine Club: Bring out
a college magazine by the end of each semester.
Culture Club: Take up a country and learn about its
culture, compare with Indian culture
Film Club: Watch an English movie and write a review,
make short videos
Chess Club: Learn to play Chess, study games by Chess
master
Science Club: Discuss cool experiments and landmark advances
in science
