Brief History of the college and the Department

The College under the name of "Telangana social welfare residential degree college” was established in the year 2016. The department of Economics was also introduced with inception of the BA course in the college.   The initial strength of the course was 120 students in BA (HEP) , Since the year 2016 onwards the college comes under the affiliation of Kakatiya University.

Since In the inception of the college the No. of posts sanctioned in the department was only one.  For some years the department has worked under Guest faculty.   The department has been started as a single man department. Presently R. Vanaja has been working in the department since 25-03-2019.

Vision: our vision is the preparation of students capable of critical thinking and independent analysis for living their lives of responsibility, leadership and service.to enable them to face current challenges and to open up new vistas in economics.

 

Mission:

To provide a high-quality education in economics and financial economics to future leaders of industry, government and civil society.

To inculcate thematical values among the students. to inculcate the values of self-esteem, personal integrity and social responsibility.

To make the students to analyze the economic problems of the country,

To prepare the students to face any situation regarding their Economic activities and understand economic problems in a right way,

To impart as many additional skills as possible so to enable the students to sustain on their own.

Strategic Goals:

1.      To provide quality instruction in Economics and enable the students to prepare for all competitive exams and PG entrance exams of state and Central Universities.

2.      To promote and impart research-oriented education in social sciences.

3.      To ensure that our students have the integrative and critical thinking skills as well as quantitative and qualitative abilities to analyze complex domestic economic, social and global problems.

 

4.      To ascertain that our students have the necessary interpersonal, communication and leadership skills so that they can function as responsible citizens and effective leaders.

 

5.      To create a collaborative teaching, learning and research environment that emphasizes social responsibility, ethical decision-making and a global perspective.
